How to Download TikTok Videos on iPhone

No app, no Shortcuts, no jailbreak — just Safari. Here is the full path, including the step most guides skip: getting the file into your Photos app.

The short version

Copy the link in TikTok, paste it here, tap Download, then use Files → Save to Photos. That last part is the bit that trips people up, so it gets its own section below.

Step by step on iOS

• Get the link. Open the video in the TikTok app, tap the Share arrow at the bottom right, then Copy link.
• Open Safari and come back to this page. Paste the link into the box and tap the download button.
• Tap the file button when the result appears. Safari will start downloading and show a small download arrow near the address bar (or in the Downloads list, depending on your iOS version).
• Find the file. Open the Files app → On My iPhone → Downloads. The MP4 will be there.
• Move it to Photos. Long-press the file → Share → Save Video. It now appears in your camera roll like any other video.

Getting it into Photos (the annoying part)

This is where most guides stop, and where most people get stuck, because iOS deliberately does not let a website write straight into your photo library. Saving to Photos must be a deliberate action you take, using either the Files app or the share sheet.

The Files route is the one that always works and needs no extra setup: long-press the downloaded MP4, choose Share, choose Save Video.

Does it work on iPad?

Yes, with one difference: iPadOS has a real desktop-class Safari, so you can also use the download manager in the toolbar, and files land in Files → Downloads exactly like on a Mac. Everything else is identical.

Common iPhone problems

• "Download" does nothing. Usually a content blocker. Try turning off any ad blocker for this site, or open the page in a private tab.
• The video plays but will not save. You are probably looking at the preview player, not the file. Use the download buttons, not a long-press on the video itself.
• It saved as a .mp4 but Photos will not take it. Very rare, and it means the file arrived incomplete. Delete it and download once more on a stable connection.
